The Garden Club of Darien is a member of the Garden Club of America and shares the same mission of stimulating the knowledge and love of gardening; sharing the advantage of association by means of educational meetings, conferences, correspondence and publications; and restoring, improving and protecting the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement.
Floral Design
Sharing the beauty and artistry of floral design. Enhancing the quality of this discipline by promoting interest and educating club members both novice and advanced.
Horticulture
Nurturing the knowledge and love of gardening. Promoting useful and valuable plants and conserving those at risk.
Conservation
Restoring, improving, and protecting the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement.
Community
Managing the maintenance and design of the Memorial Herb Garden at the Museum of Darien, the entrance gardens to Cherry Lawn, and Tilley Pond Park gazebo garden.
Photography
Furthering the knowledge and love of gardening and the natural landscape through photography. Promoting the art and science of photography at all skill levels through education.
Visiting Gardens
Educating members in garden history and design, horticulture, and the environment by visiting gardens locally and throughout the US as well as the gardens of GCA.
Pleasure Through Plants
Nurturing fellowship and the art of flower arranging with seniors at the Darien Mather Senior Center and Norwalk Elderhouse.
Scholarship
Supporting the Garden Club of America’s scholarship programs in botany, conservation, horticulture, landscape architecture, and more.
