Museum of Darien
Fall Welcome Coffee - Community Gardens Kick Off Meeting. We will be gathering together for the first time as a committee at the Museum of Darien. We will go over the calendar and discuss upcoming events. 
Amy Allen, executive director of MOD, will be speaking to us on the history of the MOD, the relevance of the Herb Garden, as well as updates on current thoughts, plans and projects underway at the museum.  ALL ARE WELCOME! Coffee and doughnuts will be served.

Group Fall Clean Up:

This is a committee obligation. Everyone will need to sign up for 2 dates - one for each garden.

The dates are as follows:

Thursday, October 10, 9:00 am at Museum of Darien Herb Garden 

Tuesday, October 14, 9:00 am at Cherry Lawn

Wednesday, November 5, 4:00 pm at Museum of Darien Herb Garden

Thursday, November 6, 9:00 am at Cherry Lawn

Group Spring Clean Up:

This too is a committee obligation ~ please mark your calendars for both dates.

Wednesday, April 8, 9:00 am at Memorial Herb Garden, Museum of Darien

Wednesday, April 16, 9:00 am at Cherry Lawn; 11:00 am at Tilley Pond

We will be cleaning up the beds as they awaken from their winter's rest by weeding, raking and pruning where needed. 

Tuesday, May 12, 4:00 pm Group Planting - ALL HANDS ON DECK ~ Everyone expected to attend. We will plant provisional grown herbs and annuals as well as setting up the stake signs at the Memorial Herb Garden at MOD. 

Saturday, June 13 Children’s seed planting workshop at the Museum of Darien in coordination with the Darien Library. Volunteers welcome! Contact Lisa von Stuelpnagel for more information.

Spring Sign Up

Look for the sign up genius on our landing page to schedule your time slots. We will send out an e-blast to give everyone a heads up on those dates.

July - September

Summer Sign Up

During these warmer months we will be tending to the gardens to ensure they are thriving by watering where needed and keeping ahead of any pesky weeds trying to overshadow our beauties. 

Please sign up for your time slots commitments to work in the gardens. More information will be forthcoming as we approach these dates and post the sign-up genius.
