Darien Green Team with help from the GCD promotes environmental education for Darien newcomers.

The Darien Green Team recently contributed a packet of educational information packaged in green sustainable shopping bags to the Darien New Neighbors program (traditionally known as the Welcome Wagon). The bags are distributed to new residents as a way to introduce them to local non-profit organizations that promote conservation education. In addition to the CGD, participating organizations included the Darien Land Trust, Mather Homestead, the Darien Advisory Committee on Sustainability and the Pollinator Pathway program among others. “This was a great success,” commented Kat Sakara, who coordinates DNN.
